Wild Waterworks in Confederation Park, Hamilton.

wild-waterworks-parkTo be a teen again! We had moved to Canada in the fall, so dealing with my first experience with a Canadian winter was quite an ordeal. I recall listening to my cousins speak about how nice it is in the warmer months and how excited they were to take me to the “wave pool”. Before that time came around, I remember one weekend they mentioned that we were going to the beach. Beach? I did pretty good in “Canadian geography” in school so I knew I had to be either on the east or west coast to see a beach. Ontario is packed with lakes and little did I know, they meant lake when they said ‘beach”. I still remember my legs going numb as I entered the water at their “beach”. Cruel joke!

But what fun did we had at the wave pool… they had to promise me it wasn’t just another lake they were taking me the first time we went that year.

Located in Confederation Park, just off Centennial Parkway in Hamilton, Wild Waterworks offers a perfect place to spend a summer day. Ride the four tube slides Night Rider, Blue Demon and Vertigo and Sidewinder, new in 2008. Go solo or with a friend!

The fun continues with the heart-pounding twists of the Corkscrew and the Kamikaze – the park’s six-storey body slides, also revamped in 2008.

Move on and surf the waves in Canada’s largest outdoor wave pool. Over a million gallons of heated water splash down every minute.

Toddlers will love Little Squirt Works, a fun wading pool with computer-controlled sprays, mists and fountains.

Please note the following height restrictions on the waterslides:

Night Rider, Blue Demon, Vertigo and Sidewinder Tube Slides: 47 inches (119.38 centimeters) or successful completion of a swim test.

Body Slides (Kamikaze and Corkscrew): 42 inches (106.68 centimeters).

These prices are very expensive for a large family ,the price of the tubes also seems too much

5 kids Only 2 less than 10 and 2 parents.

    any family rate??

    Catherine Eitutis

  2. Selena says:

These prices are very high because when you rent a tube for the day that is only 3 dollars and 75 cents less than a childs admission.

  3. shawn says:

These prices are outrageous, we are taking 3 kids and 2 adults and a 1 year old. This is going to cost about 125.00 for a few hours, what’s with this tube rental stuff?
Sounds like a rip off, don’t they know we are in a recession????

  4. ANDREA says:

WHY CANT U CHARGE $10 PER TUBE RENTAL THEN WHEN YOU RETURN THEM YOU GET $8 THATS A $2 PROFIT PER TUBE A DAY TIMES 500 PEOPLE PER DAY YOU WILL STILL MAKE &1000 A DAY JUST IN TUBE RENTALS….GREEDY PEOPLE NOW WE ARE NOT GOING TO GO TO YOUR PARK…I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU LOSE BUISNESS FROM FOR THE PRICE OF YOUR TUBES??????????????????????…..WE ARE GOING CAMPING FOR THE WEEKEND INSTEAD……3 DAYS OF FUN FOR 1 DAY OF FUN AT YOUR PLACE..WHAT A RIP OFF……..

  5. ANDREA says:

PS AFTER PARKING, TUBE RENTALS AND ADDMITION IT WOULD COST ME A LITTLE OVER $80 FOR MY MOM, ME AND MY 6 YEAR OLD SON..INSAIN….I WO9ULD RATHER ROAST MARSHMELLOWS OVER AN OPEN FIRE….

  6. lola says:

AWWWWWWWWW WWW I MISSED IT (:

  7. Susan says:

We have been to the park 3 years running and are planning another trip now….

I’ve looked everywhere can any1 tell me times its open till?

  11. unhappy says:

I am really not impressed with Wild Waterworks. I’m a single mom that purchased season’s passes this year. On one occasion I had driven quite a distance to find out the park had arbitrarily decided to close early (by two hours) that day. I had arrived at 3:45pm with my son and his friends fully expecting to get in 4 hours of watersliding as the park was supposed to be closed at 8pm. So after paying full price to park we found out at 5:45pm that the park was closing at 6pm (not even informed at the gate.) And just recently I drove down to Confederation Park to go to Wild Waterworks on Monday, September 1st to find the park closed!!!!! It was beautiful and sunny and I was told at the gatehouse that they decided to close the Wild Waterworks as they had lost money the day before with bad weather and they figured because it was only supposed to get to a high of 19 degrees they would lose money so they closed it. Seriously…the season’s passes are more expensive then Wonderland and do you really think Wonderland would close it’s gates on a beautiful day when there are season’s pass holders out there???!!! To add insult to injury…I have called and left two messages over the course of the last week to speak to a manager and NO ONE HAS HAD THE DECENCY TO RETURN MY CALL…….. This purchase of season’s passes was a rather large purchase as a single mom and I have a lengthy drive to get to Wild Waterworks which costs me about $15 in gas to find the park closed and no one wants to speak to me…a customer and an unhappy one at that….Not sure what I’m going to tell my children about next season’s passes that they want me to purchase…….. maybe the newspapers need to hear about this….

  12. Mike says:

It is open from 10am-8pm, closes for the season on labour day

  13. nick says:

$21.00 a person? thats rediculous. did someone buy out this company and jack the prices way up for there own greediness? People can barely afford gas to get there nevermind paying ten dollars more then a regular price should be. in total you are paying $39.50 !!!!!!! for the day!!!!!! for ONE person!!!! minus the split for parking if you bring friends.. are you serious? sir or maam? or group? minimum wage for teenagers is not even $10.00, and wat your trying to say is they have to work over 4 hours just to spend a couple ours at your location? for 4 or 5 slides and a giant cement box with water in it? i know electricity is expensive for you guys dont get me wrong, pumping water all day. but you guys know for a fact that your making a masive amount of profit off these people. a little of what your making is going to bills.!
you guys are making a very bad name for hamilton, and are losing alot ALOT of customers. why not lower prices and get double the customers back? id rather spray myself with a hose! this isnt right and things need to change asap! wake up! were in a recession. fucken people are losing there jobs!!!!!!!

  14. don wong says:

Whats with all this hostility about pricing? Dont like it dont go! Go camping instead. I think its a NICE place, a little pricey I agree but what are you going do.

  15. YUPYUP says:

I LOVE WILD WATER WORKS AND YEAH ITS PRICEY BUT I LIKE IT THAT WAY>> IT MEANS LESS PEOPLE ARE THERE AND YOU CAN ACTUALLY ENJOY YOUR TIME AT THE PARK RATHER THAN WAITING AN HOUR TO GO DOWN ONE SLIDE OR BEING KICKED A MILLION TIMES BY DIFFERENT PEOPLE IN THE WAVE POOL! I SPEND MOST OF MY DAYS OFF THERE AND IT”S AWESOME!!!

  16. nicholas mezei says:

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTTED A T WATER WORKS BECAUSE IT IS TO MUCH MONEY TO GET IN AND IT IS A VERY FUN PLACE BUT IT IS TO MUCH MONEY. AND A TUBE IS 10.00$ AND YOU GET ONLY 2.00$ BACK.

  17. Laurie3 says:

These were so funny to read. I don’t understand how people expect prices to be low on an attraction that operates 3 months of the year but needs to pay insurance, taxes, matinance and most likely has a minimal staff on all year. So in three months they must generate the income to cover 12 months. Its like the comments on Marineland…like people that think the wales don’t need to be fed in the off season and can’t understand the pricing.

  18. Patty says:

If you think this place is expensive, you really need to try the KINGDOM!! Ontop of the HUGE prices there, you are not allowed ANY outside drink or food. At least at this park, you can bring a picnic lunch, lots of drinks …. I know it is expensive but so are ALL of the waterparks! We drive all the way from Durham Region, every year, for my son’s birthday, just because of the cost savings between the two places!

  19. Erin Pitkeathly.. says:

ALL YOU PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT WILD WATER WORKS MAKE ME HOWL… SO WHAT UR SAYIN IS U WANNA GO TO A PLACE WHERE YA DNT HAVE TO PAY FOR A DAY OF FUN…LOL DO ANY OF YOU TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THAT THEY HAVE TO PAY BILLS TO KEEP THIS PLACE UP SO YOU CAN ENJOY IT… EVERYTHING COSTS MONEY, EIHER SUCK IT UP AND TAKE UR FAMILY TO HAVE A FUN DAY OR GO BE A CHEAP ASS, BALL OF NO FUN, SOMEWHERE ELSE…. MY FAMILY AND I GO EVERY YEAR N TRUST ME….TIS WORTH IT.!!!!!!!!!!!!! SEE YOU GUYS IN JULY :)

  20. Chris says:

I agree with Patty and Erin (June 5 2010). If you think this is expensive, try going to Great Wolf Lodge!! And you can’t bring in your own food. If it’s too expensive for you, there are other options. You obviously have access to the internet, so try finding some other place that allows you to bring your own food, drinks, provides picnic tabels, maintenance and security which are all the ingredients for a nice family outing. Our family reunion is held there every year and we always have at least a 90% turn out. If we weren’t happy, we wouldn’t be going.
.-= Chris´s last blog ..The 6th Annual Taste Of Ancaster. =-.

  21. Katie says:

Would you be willing to have student discount prices? I’m a Mac student and there is no way I can afford that with my loans and whatnot. I’d really like to go though.

  22. Jennifer says:

I cant believe the prices!!! Its ridiculous that you with a family of 4 the cost to enjoy the water for the day is a minimum cost of 125$. That’s not right at all, how do they get away with charging so much? I refuse to go this year because I can spend that money having alot more fun somewhere else with my kids.

  23. roya says:

will i think the city is only thinks about rich people to have fun . the rest shuld face with all problam it is too much if they charge 10$ per persan and then other charges reduce . that every one can enjoy the time

  24. Sandy Rhynold says:

the prices are way to high,I know its a great place but I think you need to do something about the prices

  25. Khrag says:

Just so everyone knows, you don’t have to rent the tubes. The tubes you can rent are ONLY for the wave pool, the other tubes (lazy river and slides) are free to use!

  26. Macinnis. says:

this is an amazing attraction !!!!!
im going there soon. in a couple days actually.
and people who think its high priced ? dont
go and be quiet :) some people CAN afford this.
and like to have fun. just saying ;)

  27. Spencer says:

How can you possibly charge such a rediculous price for tubes?!… I work at a waterpark and the admission is roughly the same, with no charge for tubes… We have more slides and a lesser pool, our hours are always consistent and we even rent the place out for special groups… This is unreal

  28. Neil says:

Bunch of whiners. Quit complaining. Nobody else wants to hear that your too cheap to bring your family to the ONLY outdoor waterpark in the local area. If you don’t like it, don’t go.

  29. Jeff says:

I think your prices are “INSANE” you rip off artists… Not only will I never go to this pool but I will never tell anybody to go there for a day of fun… And to reply to Neil’s comment…. If you think paying $21.00 an adult is ok and fun then you need to be auditted. That is not my version of a fun day……

  30. christine says:

frst wild water works is amazing they have an amazing water park and fun slides that u could go on with ur friends and familyalso have a lazy river where it pushes u allaround and i think wild water works is defintly not a rip off to me and my family

  31. Tracey says:

Go after 4pm it’s half price. Still get 4hrs of fun for half the price.

  32. UNKNOWN says:

WOW! stop whinig about the prices i dont think they are that bad. and if you think its to expensive dont buy a ticket and dont go. Also nobody wants to look at comments and just see people freaking out that they think the prices are to high.

  33. Sierra says:

WILD WATERWORKS does cost alot espicially for thing you should’nt really need to pay for like the tube rentals if your going to rent well in fact you should’nt rent it in the first place but yah they cost i think $10.00 each? they should be free if you’re going to use it for one day. If they still want to charge then they should charge it for at least under $5.00. :P well anyways i cant wait im going for vacation the first time for THIS year yay!!!!!!!!!! but wild waterworks is ok :) peace!

  34. joe says:

Hey Jeff(July 5) You can’t be serious? It’s 20 bucks for the day, you spend 20 going to the corner store, and if this seems like to much money for you then stay home with your sprinkler or go back to school and get an education so you can make more than minimum wage….loser

  35. joe says:

P.S. way to go Neil you couldn’t of hit the nail more on the head…..WHINERS!!!!!!!!!! See you at WILD WATERWORKS people.

  36. 411 says:

The average annual income for a hamiltonian is 22 thousand a year – since this park is in hamilton – THAT WHY PPL ARE BITCHING !

  37. Grannie says:

I was goiong to bring my family there on Sunday for a family outing but it would cost $144.80 plus HST ( don’t forget the Government)plus at least two cars to park, and the cost of at least four tubes, sorry folks will look for somewhere a bit cheaper, I think you should re-think your pricing, Hamilton is not a place on most peoples holiday list

  38. Jen says:

Can you use your own tubes and lifejackets, or do you have to rent theirs.

  39. Jason P says:

The price/day for a tube is actually incorrect.
This summer the price is $5 plus a $5 deposit that is refunded when the tube is returned.
Also you should take in to consideration that Wild Waterworks is operated by the Hamilton Conservation Authority (aka a not for profit organization), and that most summers the park actually runs on a deficit.

  40. Ollie says:

It actually is an awesome place, Jason is right. It is gutless that you guys are chirping about pricing. Get over it and enjoy yourselves.

    Overall: AWESOME

  41. Ollie says:

It is a pretty good deal when you realize that you can be there for TEN hours.

  42. John says:

Initially I had the same thought as most of you i.e. renting the tubes, but you don’t need to rent the tubes to float in the little stream, or go down the slides – so your real cost to have a blast is just the cost of entry. The prices are a bit high, but it costs to have good quality staff (which they are – EXCELLENT) and a good quality park. 50% less isn’t worth it if someone gets hurt or drowned.

  43. hannah says:

I do like the place, from the time I first went there till today
the price has doubled, and so fahr nothing has been added to the
park or expandet, parking is to much also, 5$ would be plenty.
yes,I would spend us much in a cornerstore, but then I never go to
a cornerstore, young people have no concept how to spend there
money, yes Im a senior and will not spend that kind of money….
    have fun

  44. Shivang says:

MESSED PRICES THIS PARK PRICES CAN GO TO HELL

  45. Daniel and Son says:

If you think these prices are high, try going to MArineland now that is the biggest rippoff in the world!

  46. Ann says:

I would like to see the parking rate reduced & either no fee for lifejackets/tube rental & lockers or very small fees of only a dollar or two. With these prices, I’m instead taking my family of four to Great Wolf Lodge & will pay the additional $150 for my overnight accomodations…it’s definately a better way to go!

  47. Tom says:

What a rip off! Don’t forget the $9.50 for parking!

  48. Michael says:

I’ve been to waterparks all over the world. This one is a TOTAL RIPOFF for what you get. Stay away!

  49. chanty says:

I used to go to this place all the time when i was a kid, back when it was only 11 bucks with the shoppers coupon to get in. I dont understand the prices like the rest of you. I got wonderland passed for the family cost 60 bucks each. Parking pass was 40 and we are set for the entire summer. I’d rather shell out the 15 bucks for gas each time and go there to just enjoy their amazing water park.

  50. Ralph says:

A lot of you also seem to be forgetting that Wild Waterworks is one of very few parks that allow you to bring in outside food, cutting down costs dramatically. Wonderland can look like a pretty good deal, but when you’re FORCED to shell out $10 to $15 per person for your meal things start adding up.
Also, Wild Waterworks is run by the Hamilton Conservation Authority, so any profit that the park makes goes back in to beautifying the region instead of lining some private organization’s pockets.

  51. Tina says:

All of these people complaining about the cost etc., You all have options, don’t go if you find it too expensive! It is a clean environment and the fact that you can bring your own food/cooler into the park is a bonus! I have been to Wild Water Kingdom as well this summer and let me tell you, what a disappointment! Despite the fact that you can’t bring in a cooler, it is dirty, discusting and they haven’t done any renovations/upkeep since I was there in my 20′s!

Wild Water Works may be a little pricey, however, you can’t argue the fact that by getting a season’s pass, you are getting your money’s worth from June to September!

  52. scott says:

My daughter shantel demay got hired friiday may 27 and was told to report may 28 and may 29 for training. I a little upset after mentiioned she was not available sat because of a commitment. She can go sunday but that is not good for you. Bottom line, I find it unfair to give a person one day notice 905 643 8403

  53. Loriana says:

Do you give discounts on the season passes for children with autism?

  54. rowen says:

OK YOU PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT WILD WATERWORKS IS EXPENSIVE – ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND! THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! I GO HERE A LOT DURING THE SUMMER AND EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY LOVES IT. IF YOU THINK IT’S TOO EXPENSIVE THEN DON’T GO! DON’T SAY ITS BAD BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE WILL SEE THE COMMENT AND THEY MIGHT NOT GO AND THEY MIGHT BE ONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO WOULD HAVE HAD FUN THERE. SO IF YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY DONT SAY IT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  55. max says:

i will never come back to wild waterworks because its a RIP-OFF $23.10 a person come on, you guys lost a lot of buisness. see ya

  56. Brian says:

I too also agree with the cost of admission to Wild Water Works. This is run by the City of Hamilton Parks and they should be providing reasonable rates for everyone who wants to use it. Im glad that we checked the prices before we went there from Niagara Falls. Everyone should call Bob Britina mayor of Hamilton and tell him about the crazy prices!!

  57. Bah Hum Bug says:

I think it is a little pricey but is worth it!! We always have a great time!! All of you guys who are complaining then just don’t go, geeze!

  58. HAMILTONIAN says:

I’ve been living in Hamilton all my life and I still never went to Wild Water Works because of the prices. It’s insane…………23 bucks per person……..get real…….That is the only thing that we have in this uncleaned city…………and even that is rip off………..

  59. abby says:

ok people if you have a problem with this place then dont comment or go because people like me dont want to listen to your ridiculous prices or whatever i LOVE this place and if you dont well.. dont bother even getting yourself tied up in these situations! PEOPLE WHO HAVE A PROBLEM WELL DONT GET INVOLVED!!

  60. HAMILTONIAN says:

ok,big mouth abby……………if you have problem with reading these comments then do not react to the comments………how’s that? this is a free country so we can tell and write how we feel………..and if you don’t like it then don’t read it,but obviously it’s not true because as I see you do listen and read……………I love this place too but it’s way to expensive……admit it……90% of these comments are against the pricing……be fer………..

  61. jim says:

My girls just had a birthday party at Wild Waterworks. There were 10 kids. They loved it. Parking, admission, pavilion, tube rental, lunch, afternoon snack, coupon for ice cream, loot bags for kids, birthday cake and a special surprise for the birthday girls. Having a birthday party like this, we found it to be very reasonable, from 10:00 am until closing. The feedback I got from the parents and kids was great. They all had a great time. Everything went perfectly. The coordinators Stacy and Robin did an excellent job – everything we needed, they supplied. There were no complaints at all. Even the weather cooperated. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a kids birthday party.

  62. Roxy says:

Holy Fuck! I called twice to speak to someone and the same little bitch disconnected my call twice. So I’m taking my family of 6 to another Water Park

  63. Lola says:

Would the cheap bastards shut the F&^# up already!!! The whiners are upset because they either cannot afford to go or they are just to darn cheap. Guess what… no one cares. Feel free to go to Cornation Park, it will cost you nothing. You can park your car for free, bring your picnic lunch and even get splashed with some water. Get over it. Everything costs money.
What I find so amusing is that the same people bitching about how expensive the rates are, are the same people who cannot spell!
Two things that bother me: 1. people who cannot spell and 2. complainers. I’m going on Sunday 4 Adults, 4 children, 2 parking permits 8 tube rentals for the lazy and if I feel like it….lunch too! You get what you pay for!!!

  64. HAMILTONIAN says:

Anything’s affordable in this country dummy Lola……..This is Canada…….People over here are writing how they feel whether you like it or not……Me personally, I make $5.700 per month, but it’s still expensive for me…..
QUOTE:Two things that bother me: 1. people who cannot spell and 2. complainers.
Looks like, not everyone’s educated as much as you are!!!!!
Believe me: WE ALL CAN SEE YOUR EDUCATION TROUGH YOUR COMMENTS…
You don’t have to write how many people is coming with you to prove yourself “YOU GOT MONEY”. Most of us have season passes like myself, so we can go anytime we want!
People have right to write how they feel and I agree even if I’m a member of the park.
    THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  65. Fred says:

I actually don’t have a problem with the entry price, but $9.50 for parking is ridiculous. This isn’t Toronto, why is parking so much just to be able to pay to use the park?! Parking should be free and I’d be there.

  66. Nur-Sel says:

This place is ridiculously expensive and the rides are very regular types. Nothing is special about them; even some hotels have similar rides. In addition to pricy entrance fee, there are fees for parking and tubes; it costs a good $40/person. If everyone stops going there, I believe they start thinking to do something about it.

  67. Tony says:

We don’t like concrete/plastic playgrounds, My daughter 6 yr. old and I love Gullivers lake, clean and cool water and anchored rafts to jump off, we bring the BBQ and a cooler , some cold canned beer. She has learned to swim there.

  68. john2737533 says:

keep up the great work on the site. I love it. Could maybe use some more updates more often, but i am sure that you have got other things things to do like we all have to do unfortunately. =) 27375

  69. amanda says:

I love this park. It’s great for kids and adults a like. I went with my 5year old son, sister brother in law and 12 year old nephew last year. My son doesn’t like water at all, and he loved it. The prices are fantastic compared to wonderland and marineland. It’s the only park that I’ve been to that allows outside food. It’s a great way to spend the day for everyone.
